Five Vegetarian-Friendly Restaurants in New York City
New York is one of those cities where you can find practically any cuisine, regardless of its renown or lack thereof. Thus, it should come as no surprise that the city is teeming with restaurants that are either entirely plant-based or at the very least, vegetarian friendly. In this post, I am going to introduce you to five such eateries, which run the gamut from an English tearoom to an organic, vegan café.
Jack’s Wife Freda
Boasting several locations throughout New York, Jack’s Wife Freda serves up Mediterranean-inspired food in cozy, inviting spaces. Their green shakshuka is a must-try.

Chama Mama
Chama Mama was my introduction to Georgian cuisine, and what an introduction it was! From the lobiani (a flaky, pita-like bread filled with bean paste) to crispy smashed potatoes and vegetable ragout, everything I ate was delectable. Be sure to make a reservation, as this is a popular spot.

P.S. Kitchen
P.S. Kitchen has become part of my NYC ritual. Whenever I am in the city, I make a point of stopping by this vegan eatery, which is conveniently located within walking distance of several theaters. Their “chicken” Caesar wrap is hands down the best plant-based Caesar wrap that I have ever had.

The Organic Grill
Located in Greenwich Village, The Organic Grill features an organic and entirely vegan menu. If you’re anything like me, you’ll have trouble selecting just one item from their array of enticing offerings.

And so concludes my list of vegetarian-friendly restaurants in NYC…well, so concludes this list. There are so many other restaurants that I want to introduce you to, so stay tuned for part two!
In the meantime, let me know if you have been to any of these restaurants.
